Chef Rachael Zavala received her Culinary education at Diablo Valley College and interned at Perbacco Italian Restaurant in San Francisco, with a focus on Italian cured meats and sausages. She worked at Wente Winery Catering Department, one of the premier wedding and event specialists in Northern California.

Chef Rachael has only one desire; to make your event sumptuously... deliciously stress free!

Who we are

Compass Star Catering was founded rather by accident! While still in Culinary Arts school, Chef Rachael started catering events on free weekends, and it just seemed to build from there!

We named the business "Compass Star" to evoke both the comforting haven of the North Star in the night sky to travelers and also the far flung eclectic food interests of our chefs.
